๐ Decorate with Me!๐
Ho Ho Ho! Today is the first day of December!
I love decorating the Christmas tree. Every year I struggle to survive the onslaught of Christmas commercials that follow the fading out of Halloween, knowing that I canโt put my decorations up until the day after Thanksgiving. But when that day comes, when we put away our leftovers from Thanksgiving and fall turns to winter, I know my favorite time of the year is here.
We pulled the tree out of the box and put it together, only to find out that the middle part didnโt light up anymore. I couldnโt believe it! We just got this tree two years ago! Well, I guess thatโs what we get for having a cat that loves to climb in it. I donโt know for sure if thatโs why the lights donโt work, but itโs certainly why a bunch of the branches are broken.
Regardless of why they didnโt work, they didnโt, so Danny had to go out and buy more lights.
And little Wednesday here is the culprit!
When Danny came back from the store, he brought with him not just lights for the tree but colored cafe lights to dress up the big front window! It was a big surprise, but it looks so good! It really draws that whole side of the room together.
This ornament was actually Dannyโs first Christmas present to me. We were seniors in high school and had only been going out for a couple of months by that point, but we already knew we loved one another and planned to be together forever (Weโre over fourteen years now). Now itโs one of the staple pieces to our Christmas tree. For years, whenever we put up a tree, this ornament is always on it.
This was a really fun night, and Iโm glad we did it together. One of my favorite memories from each year that weโve been married is putting up our tree every year. He mostly takes care of putting the tree actually together while I do the actual decorating, and afterwards I had a nice big cup of hot chocolate while we finished re-watching YOU.
And thus concludes the christmas tree decorating! Iโm so excited to see where this month takes us! I want to really go all out and enjoy the holiday season this year. Lately my mental health hasnโt been all that wonderful (which is why my other posts are so few and far between) but Iโm feeling a lot better now and Iโm ready to get back on the horse!
What do you most look forward to about Christmas? Have you guys decorated your trees yet? Let me know in the comments!
See you guys tomorrow!
